to treat acne and rosacea. Azelaic acid is a naturally occurring acid.
It helps the skin to renew itself more quickly and therefore reduces
pimple and blackhead formation. It also helps to kill the bacteria that
cause acne and rosacea.
Important facts:
You should not use Azelaic Acid Ointment / Cream (Generic Skinoren) on sunburned, windburned, dry, chapped, or irritated skin. It may make these conditions worse. Also avoid using Azelaic Acid Ointment / Cream (Generic Skinoren) on wounds or on areas of eczema.
You may go on using cosmetics (make-up) while you are using this
medicine for acne. But it is best to use only water-base
cosmetics. Also, it is best not to use cosmetics too heavily or too
often. They may make your acne worse.
Side effects:
You may feel some burning, warmth, stinging, tingling, itching, redness, dryness, peeling, or irritation during treatment with Azelaic Acid Ointment / Cream (Generic Skinoren). If any of the effects are bothersome check it with your doctor.
