Pharmacological action
Substance (INN) Lamivudine (Lamivudine)
Application: HIV-infection.
Contraindications: Hypersensitivity.
Restrictions apply: pregnancy, breast-feeding infants up to 3 months (data on efficacy and safety are available).
Application of pregnancy and breast-feeding: It is possible only when the anticipated benefits to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus and child.
Side effects:
Headache, dizziness, weakness, sleep disturbances, insomnia, gipotimiya, neuropathy, cough, flu-like syndrome, anorexia, nausea, diarrhea, vomiting, pain in the epigastric region, necrotic pancreatitis (the lethal outcome), myalgia, arthralgia, leukopenia , anemia, fever, sweating, and allergic reactions.
Interaction:
Trimethoprim increases the concentration in the blood.
Overdose:
Treatment: symptomatic, gastric lavage, the appointment of activated charcoal, forced diuresis, monitoring of vital functions.
